Grape Varieties: Touriga-Nacional (60%), Trincadeira (30%), Bastardo (10%).
Winemaking: Luís Cortinhas / Regina Bernardo
Vinification and Maturation: Hand-harvested into small perforated crates. Reception with destemming and immediate crushing. Fermentation in stainless steel vats, with maceration at a controlled temperature of around 23ºC. Prolonged maceration and malolactic fermentation in oak barrels. Aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels.
Tasting Notes: At Quinta do Sobreiró de Cima, we selected the best grapes from the Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira, and Bastardo varieties to create our Grande Reserva red wine. With a deep ruby color, this wine reveals the great character of the red wines of Trás-os-Montes, through its concentration and aging potential. Its complex and rich aroma of ripe black fruits reveals a touch of spices and liqueurs, harmonized by 24 months of aging in French oak barrels. On the palate, the intensity of the black fruits is balanced by aging, with fine tannins and a long, persistent finish. Our Grande Reserva is a fuller-bodied wine, whose aging has conferred greater complexity and balance.
Try it With... This wine is ideal to accompany rich meat dishes, smoked meats or cheeses. Serve at a temperature of 17ºC.
