Made with grapes from the Douro Superior region, this wine originated from Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and a small percentage of older vines. Located on the left bank of the Douro River, the vines are protected from the strongest heat and enjoy greater coolness, thus maintaining a slower and more balanced ripening process.
Grape Varieties: 50% Touriga Nacional, 40% Touriga Franca, 10% old vines
Soil: Schist.
Sub-Region: Douro Superior
Winemaking: After manual harvesting and transport to the winery in small boxes (18kg-20kg), the bunches were destemmed and the grapes were trodden in granite presses where they fermented for about 10 days.
Maturation: 6 months of ageing (50% inox, 50% used barrels.
Tasting notes: This wine has a red fruit aroma with a light touch of barrel. In the mouth it is structured, gastronomic and long.
Pairing and Longevity: Red meats, grilled, served at a temperature of 16ºC. It can be consumed immediately or within the next 10 years, as long as it is stored lying down in a cool, dry place, away from light and without temperature fluctuations.
