Origin: DOC Douro
Grape Varieties: Touriga Nacional & Touriga Franca.
Winemaking: The harvest for this blend began on September 29 and lasted until mid-October. The grapes were transported in 20kg boxes to the winery, where they were sorted on the sorting table. This was followed by partial destemming and crushing in stainless steel vats. The alcoholic fermentation took place over 12 days, with temperature control at 23oC, during which cycles of pumping over were carried out every 2 hours, each cycle lasting 3 minutes. At the end of the alcoholic fermentation, 100% of the blend aged for 12 months in new barrels, 70% French oak and 30% American oak.
Tasting Notes: A clean, bright, garnet-colored wine with good intensity. On the nose it has floral aromas combined with red fruits. It is complex, deep and elegant, with aromas of ripe black fruit, especially blackberries, in perfect harmony with nuances of wood-derived spices and vanilla. The palate is full-bodied, with a good balance between the black fruit, very polished tannins and good acidity. The finish is long and persistent.
Food Pairing: Perfect with red meat and game. Ideal with oven-roasted wild pigeon.
Storage: It should be stored in a cool place, at a constant temperature (ideal storage temperature 12oC), away from light and in a horizontal position.
Winemaker: Álvaro Van Zeller
