The grapes used for the Redoma Branco originate from old vines growing on the right bank of the Douro River, at an altitude of between 400 and 600 metres. Here, the predominant grape varieties are Rabigato, Códega do Larinho, Viosinho, Donzelinho and Gouveio. The mica schist soils in which these vines thrive lend the resulting wines plenty of minerality, elegance and vibrant freshness.

Tasting Notes: This Redoma is an outstanding example of the Douro Valley’s potential to produce crisp, classic and easy white wines without compromising the complexity of the old vines, the terroir and the mica-schist soils of this region. The nose starts off subtle and delicate; with hints of citrus and fresh herbs, leading to notes of hazelnuts, stone fruits, and pear. The palate is structured with an excellent acidity, following through to a dry and piquant finish. This classic white wine has a fantastic balance and good ageing potential.
Vinification: The grapes used for Redoma come from old vineyards located on the right bank of the Douro River, at altitudes between 400 and 600 meters. These sites are dominated by mica-schist soils which, combined with the complexity of the traditional Douro field blend, give rise to elegant wines marked by freshness and minerality. After careful selection in the vineyard and on the sorting table, the grapes were gently pressed, followed by cold settling for 24 hours. Alcoholic fermentation occurred spontaneously in used French oak barrels of 228 and 500 litres, where the wine aged for around six months.
Ageing: 6 months in French oak barrels.
Gastronomy: Oysters, oven-baked fish, poultry and other white meats. Vegetarian options: dishes based on root vegetables (turnips, sweet potato, beetroot), Caesar salad, cheese. Suitable for Vegans & Vegetarians.
