To the "Good Men and Merchants of the Villa de Vianna," Queen Maria I permitted the requested transport of wines from Monção, Melgaço, and Ribeira Lima. It was the 18th century when England became the main destination for "Viana wines," shipped from the mouth of the Lima River. Sailors recounted that some of the wines transported in casks showed signs of "joy," that is, fermentation. Perhaps this was attributed to the increased demand for quality wines produced in Northern Portugal. The winemakers were thus forced to speed up the vinification process, or simply "not finish the wines"! When the harvest festival arrived, Dourado emerged in Ramada. Transformed around all the genuineness and typicality of the people of Alto Minho, the oenological intervention is minimal and the fermentation of the must is spontaneous! Without stabilization and still sweet, it is bottled. Fermentation continues in the bottle, giving rise to a string of the finest pearls. Mal Acabado was born! And so begins a story!

Grape Varieties: Loureiro

Vinification: Mal Acabado is a natural sparkling wine made with the Loureiro grape variety, sourced from traditional vines trained on trellis borders. This wine is produced with minimal intervention, fermenting with indigenous yeasts and without stabilization. The result is a rustic, fresh, and authentic wine that reflects the terroir of the region.

Tasting Notes: Straw-yellow in color and slightly cloudy, it presents a fruity and floral aroma with notes of lemon, green apple, and jasmine. On the palate, it is dry, light, and lively with a pronounced acidity and a fine pearl-like string of bubbles. It is an ideal wine to drink as an aperitif or to accompany appetizers, salads, and seafood.
