Família Hehn Espumante Riesling Edição Especial Bruto Branco 2014

The Hehn Sparkling Riesling Special Edition 2014 is a tribute to Marcos Hehn's mother, who passed away on September 1st, 2014, the day they were to harvest their first Riesling. After 10 years, he has the joy of sharing this tribute to his mother.

Grape Varieties: Riesling

Terroir: Vineyards located between 640-720m altitude on a gentle southeast-facing slope. Soils derived from metamorphic schist series with quartz outcrops. Sandy-loam texture with some stoniness.

Winemaking: The grapes, harvested in 20kg boxes, were gently crushed, without destemming, in a pneumatic press, and the must was immediately pumped into stainless steel fermentation tanks, where the base wine fermentation took place. The wine was subsequently bottled and placed in a cool cellar for the second fermentation according to the classic method, and after aging in the bottle, the "dégorgement à la glace" (disgorgement with frost) was performed.

Fermentation: Stainless steel tanks with cooling jackets (base wine) at a temperature of 17ºC to 20ºC.

Ageing: Aged in stainless steel tanks for approximately 1 year. Aged in bottle on lees for 100 months (8 years and 4 months). Bottling date: October 23, 2015. Date of last disgorgement: February 2024.
