Red Wine DOC Dão • Old vineyard with almost 40 years • Granitic Soil with large rock outcrops • Altitude between 400-600m • Influenced by the rivers Dão and Mondego • Hotand Dry Summers • Cold Winters.
Grape Varieties: Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão.
Tasting Note: Clear and open color. This wine presents a fresh and mineral aroma, marked by the openness of the red fruits, spices and some reduction notes on the nose. In the palate it’s straight forward, with high acidity and a elegant, persistent finish.
Vinification: The Red Envelope is the result of a blend with Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro, Tinta Roriz and Tinto Cão from a 40 year old vineyard vinified with 100% stems. In the middle of the process, in order to avoid the astringency of the tannins, we interrupt the contact with the skins. It aged for 12 months in 300L French oak barrels and then remained in the bottle for another 8 months before going out to market.
Acceptable Storage Time: 10 to 20 Years.
