Primado Rosé 2023

Primado Rosé is produced only in selected years and in very limited editions. It stands out for its structure and complexity, its longevity, and its extraordinary gastronomic character.

Grape Varieties: Touriga-Nacional, Tinta-Roriz, Alfrocheiro-Preto and Tinta-Pinheira.

Soil and Climate: The sandy granitic soil, the climate marked by the Estrela, Caramulo and Lousã mountain ranges, which surround this place and the influence of the proximity to the reservoir of the Aguieira dam create exceptional climatic and geological conditions. The humidity caused by the morning mists provides slower and more balanced maturation.

Tasting Notes: The scarlet hue results from the saignée method, with the must drawn off after skin contact. Intense fruit aromas fascinate on the nose. You can feel the soft sweetness of lime blossom and hints of peach and blackberry, with spices also present. In the mouth, it's delicious and addictive. You can feel the structure, the body and the presence of discreet tannins. Gluttonous and fat, this wine retains its elegance on a long finish provided by freshness and acidity. The dominance and robustness of Touriga Nacional are clearly evident and beautifully balanced by the elegance of other grape varieties, particularly Tinta Roriz.

Vinification: Pre-fermentation maceration and subsequent bleeding. Fermentation at controlled temperature for 18 days, remaining on fine lees during the winter months.

Ageing: 6 months in stainless steel, 6 months in bottle.

Food Pairing: Its characteristics make it gastronomically very versatile. It goes well with fish, seafood, sushi, sashimi and curry dishes. However, its structure also allows it to harmonise with some meats, particularly grilled meats. Best served at 10-13ºC.

Ageing Ability: 10 years

Winemaker: Patricia Santos
