After the success of the monovarietal Rabigato, and the Red blend, we started doing “experiments” with the varieties we have planted in our Quinta. An example of this is the single varietal from Sousão. A dyer variety widely used to give colour to the Reds blend, called Vinhão in the Minho region.
Grape Varieties: 100% Sousão
Tasting Notes: The 2015 harvest was very good in the Douro region, allowing the perfect maturation of the grapes of this fantastic variety that is the Sousão grape variety. It was not surprising, therefore, that the wine obtained a very dark and loaded colour, aromas without the herbaceous character of the grape variety, great freshness of mouth, enormous concentration of tannins and tremendous gastronomic potential.
Gastronomy: For sure it will be the ideal companion for a "Lampreia à Bordalesa" or a "Cabidela de Galo Campestre". To drink and store. Cheers!
