Our neighbor, the Uca tangeri crab, with its graceful violin-like claw, charms females and brightens the marsh. It fights and defends its territory. It digs burrows in the sand and promotes soil oxygenation. That's why you inspire us. We want to make fresh, maritime wines that express our terroir and contribute to Alvor's continued status as a wildlife refuge and a living testament to history.
Grape Varieties: Touriga Nacional, Aragonez and Syrah.
Soil: Limestone Clay
Climate: Mediterranean Atlantic influence
Tasting Notes: Very nice ripe red fruits, dark chocolate and bergamot orange. Very pleasant, smooth, with aromatic and salty style. Soft and persistent finish. Really good with some starters and meat dishes.
Winemaking: Hand-harvested into 15kg boxes, grape selection, and fermentation for 10 days at 24°C. Partial ageing in French oak barrels for 14 months.
