Grape Varieties: Old Vines, Viosinho, Rabigato.
Soil: Schist
Tasting Notes: A straw-coloured wine with orange and grapefruit aromas. Very fresh and light. This wine can be drunk as either an aperitif or digestive. A new experience in White Port.
Winemaking: The grapes used to make this wine were grown on several plots at altitudes of between 200m and 550m. Of the castes used, the Viosinho and the Rabigato are the predominant varieties. Once manually harvested into 22Kg boxes, the grapes were kept in cold storage for 12h. They were then fermented naturally using indigenous yeast, the fruit itself left to macerate until the time came to add distilled spirit. It was then aged in old 600L chestnut casks for at least 4 years. This wine was never filtered or processed from ageing to bottling.
