Quinta da Boavista Vinha do Levante Grande Reserva Branco 2022

The Levante vineyard is located at one of the highest points of Quinta da Boavista. Facing east, this vineyard receives the first rays of the morning sun and is protected from the last rays of the day, providing a balanced ripening of the grapes. Planted on terraces in 2007, the Arinto and Viosinho grape varieties are able to express their best characteristics in this vineyard, which are reflected in this unique wine.

Tasting Notes: The citrusy and crystalline color catches our eye from the first swirls of the glass. Clear and unctuous, it slowly releases notes of white-fleshed fruit in a blend of lightly aromatic yet fresh herbs, creating a very refined and complex whole. On the palate, it is creamy and refreshing, an extremely pleasurable and addictive wine, whether for its minerality or the spicy sensation that lingers on the finish. A wine full of personality and character.

Vinification: The grapes were all hand-harvested in small 18kg boxes and transported to the winery, where they remained in the cold storage until the following morning. Viosinho was selected on a sorting conveyor belt, destemmed, and pressed. Its fermentation took place in new and used French oak barrels. Arinto was also selected on a sorting conveyor belt, destemmed, and lightly crushed. It then underwent skin maceration for 24 hours before being pressed. Fermentation began in stainless steel and finished in new and used barrels. Both grape varieties aged in barrels. In November of the year following its harvest, the final blend was made. Bottled in March 2024, it spent a year in the bottle before being presented.

Pairing: Fatty fish, seafood and cheeses. Serve at 12ºC-14ºC.
