From one of the most original vineyards in the world, the Curraletas dos Biscoitos (stone walls that protects the vines from the sea), this Muros de Magma wine comes from the Verdelho variety. The vines grow on top of volcanic rocks, in a creeping way, so that they are sheltered from the sea winds.
Grape Varieties: 100% Verdelho
Tasting Notes: Intense yellow color. Austere aroma, typical from this grape. Saline notes and basalt stone, with a vibrant aci-dity. Pure terroir.
Vinification: Manual harvest into 20kg wicker baskets. The grapes are transported rapidly to the winery, where com-plete destemming is made, followed by slight pressing. After the static decantation in cold, it’s transfered to used french oak barrels of 300L. After the fermentation, this wine stays under fine lees in battonage for 6 months.
