This wine from a single year's harvest (1993) and bottled in 2022, is produced with the Sercial grape variety, harvested in the Jardim da Serra area, from volcanic and basaltic soil, with a clayey texture, acidic and rich in organic matter. A mild subtropical climate, hot summers and temperate winters. Great proximity between the vineyards and the sea, which gives the wines perfect acidity.

Grape Varieties: 100% Sercial

Tasting Notes: Madeira Frasqueira Sercial Wine | Dry has a light amber color with golden highlights. Complex, exuberant and ethereal aroma characteristic of this grape variety. Notes of iodine, varnish, orange zest, nuts, honey and toast. In the mouth it behaves like a Madeira with a non-cutting dryness and complex aromatic concentration. Notes of wood, well structured, firm tannins, which combined with the characteristics of the variety, transmit rich and diverse aromas, predominantly nuts, beeswax and some vanilla.

Vinification: Open spout. Destemmed and pressed grapes. Fermentation and temperature control. Interruption of fermentation by adding wine alcohol at 96% Vol.

Ageing: In French and American oak casks, in the traditional stone process until bottling.

Conservation and Service: It must be stored vertically and after opening, the wine will remain in good condition for several months. Jars can create natural deposits, which is why we recommend decanting them. It can be enjoyed simple, as an excellent aperitif.

Storage Specifications: Storage protected from light, vertically, with cork replacement every 20 years.

Expected Longevity: Madeira wines, due to their characteristics and fortification, have great longevity.

Winemaker: Ivo Couto
