The Year: The winter was normal and rainy and the spring dry. Normal temperatures in the summer season, except the end of July and beginning of August, with very high temperatures, around 45º during the day and 30º at night. Abnormally high temperatures during the harvest as well, which led to full-bodied and concentrated wines with tannins that give them good aging potential and exceptional quality.

Grape Varieties: With 23 different varieties recognized in our old vines, some of the most representative varieties are Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, Tinta Barroca and Tinto Cão.

Tasting Notes: Color: Tawny, with reddish-orange nuances. Aroma: It exudes a wide variety of aromas of dried fruits, honey and vanilla notes, due to its aging in oak casks. Palate: Velvety, elegant and very balanced. With a long and persistent finish.

Viticulture: Coming from Quinta da Vista Alegre, located in Cima Corgo, where there are vines over 95 years old, and other younger ones as a result of a restructuring plan carried out since the end of the 80s. buildings with predominant exposure to the south.

Vinification: The grapes are harvested by hand into small transport boxes and vinified according to the traditional Port Wine method. After partial destemming, the grapes are crushed in stone presses with foot treading. The fermentation of the must takes place under controlled temperature and is interrupted by the addition of brandy. This wine, as it is produced, has great aging potential.

Ageing: Wine from a single harvest, aged in oak casks for a minimum period of 7 years. The year of bottling is indicated on the back label.

Consumption: Pleasant accompaniment with dry fruits: almonds, raisins, peaches and apricots. It also accompanies sweet desserts, with eggs or tarts with dried fruit, coffee and vanilla. However, it is a wine that can perfectly be drunk on its own, chilled or at the end of a meal. As Port Wine is a natural product, it is likely to create deposits.

Conservation: Bottle upright at a constant temperature and protected from light. After opening, consume preferably within 1 to 4 months.
