Grape Varieties: Touriga Nacional, Aragonez, Syrah, Merlot.
Soils: Planted in clay-schist and sandy soils with low yield potential, Vicentino’s grapes display their finest attributes. The naturally low yields enhance grape quality, promoting an ideal balance of organic acids, sugars and phenolic compounds. Achieving this balance between quality and quantity, combined with a mild climate and the traditional art of blending different grape varieties, allowed the creation of this delightful wine.
Fermentation & Ageing: Hand-harvested grapes, carefully placed in 15 kg boxes. Rigorous selection of the best grapes upon arrival at the winery. After destemming, the grapes fermented under temperature control for 8 days, followed by an extended maceration period ranging from 1 to 3 weeks. Part of the wine was aged in French oak barrels for 10 months.
Tasting Notes: Deep ruby in colour, this wine shows balsamic aromas with ripe red fruits and a subtle vegetal character, combined with notes of black pepper. On the palate, it reveals freshness, good volume and a charming saline finish.
Food Pairing & Service: An excellent match for roasted pork loin, octopus rice or eggplant lasagna. Also try it with soft cheeses or a typical spicy regional chouriço. We recommend serving at 16–18°C.
