Grape Varieties: Old Field Blend from Quinta de Saes, where 18 different types of grapes are planted.
Soil Type: Granitic with clay and sand lines
Vineyards: 55-year-old vineyards, with approximately 5,000 vines per hectare, located at an altitude of 500m.
Tasting Notes: Intense ruby color. Concentrated and complex nose with notes of red fruit and spices. Modern and vigorous style. On the palate, notes of jelly with a toasted finish. Fine, good quality tannins, very well balanced. Great complexity.
Winemaking: The 2020 wine year in Dão was marked by a dry winter and the rain that fell in early spring allowed some water reserves to be obtained in the soil, which supported the plant during the dry spring and summer months. After careful selection both in the vineyard and in the winery, fermentation took place in stainless steel vats, at controlled temperature. The wine was aged for 12 months in second-year Allier oak barrels.
