Grape Varieties: Old vines, between 60 and 100 years old: more than 35 mix-planted grape varieties with a predominance of Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Touriga Franca and Tinta Barroca.
Tasting Notes: Aroma: Very concentrated, with balsamic oak notes, fig and black plum aromas, tobacco. Taste: Full bodied, firm, mature and silky tannins. Mineral notes and a very elegant, persistent and complex finish.
Vinification: Part of the grapes are foot-trodden in traditional granite "lagares". The remaining grapes ferment in 5-ton stainless steel vats, with controlled temperature and periodical remontage.
Ageing: After malolactic fermentation the wine is racked into 225 litre French Oak barrels where they remain for 18 months.
