The "Obrigado" by Olive Tree Wines emerges as a blend of the timeless family tradition in winemaking from Bairrada and the boldness of new generations in crafting an extraordinary wine. This limited edition of 500 bottles, sourced from old vineyards, pays homage to the Bairrada terroir and embodies our gratitude towards our heritage. An exclusive fusion that celebrates history and innovation.
Grape Varieties: Baga (50%), Merlot (25%) and Syrah (25%).
Tasting Notes: Visual Appearance: Medium-intensity garnet color. Flavor: Blackcurrant, with notes of dried leaves and pine. Aroma: Ripe red fruits, hazelnut, and black pepper. Elegant, velvety overall, with a harmonious finish.
Pairing: Ideal with cold cuts, red meats, game and cheeses.
Winemaking: The grapes come from two unique plots, one a very old Baga vineyard and the other composed of Merlot and Syrah. Harvesting is done manually, with careful selection in the vineyard. This is followed by destemming and traditional foot treading. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, and malolactic fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels, where the wine ages for 24 months, gaining structure, elegance, and longevity.
