"Mata dos Lagares is our family's first wine, produced from vines that have been with us for generations. In 2010, following the guidance of winemaker Francisco Montenegro, we planted a vineyard in the upper portion of the estate, opting for the Encruzado grape variety – a less common choice in the Douro region, but one we consider ideal for our project. In 2023, we vinified grapes from this vineyard for the first time, creating our first wine, a limited production that aims to ensure the utmost care at every stage of the process. In the coming years, we intend to explore other grape varieties and expand the possibilities of our terroir, maintaining our focus on small productions with a high level of attention to quality."

On the palate, it reveals freshness and balance, with firm acidity, vibrant fruit, and pleasant vegetal notes. A white wine with potential to evolve in the bottle for years to come.
