This wine, which respects the ancestral production technique that was brought by the Romans to this region, and which is still very evident in Vila de Frades, is a unique and very special product made from sharing between generations. Due to its production technique, the wine has not been stabilized or artificially filtered, so it may develop a natural sediment in the bottle.
Winemaking: NaTalha Tinto 2024 is made according to the traditional vinho de talha method: whole grapes (skins, seeds, and stems) ferment naturally and macerate for four months inside clay amphorae (talhas). The result is a raw, direct red wine that captures the authentic soul of Alentejo. The inspiration behind the NaTalha label is personal: during its creation, the winemaker was also nurturing the life of her daughter. A wine born in harmony with nature — crafted slowly and with purpose.
Tasting Notes: Bright ruby red in colour, with aromas of fresh red cherries, olive leaf and earthy spice. On the palate, it is dry and elegant, with fine, clay-textured tannins and naturally integrated acidity. A vibrant, saline finish with a touch of rustic charm gives this wine authenticity and depth.
Pairings: Roasted duck or alentejano pork, rustic gazpacho with traditional garnishes, dishes with aubergine, beetroot or mushrooms, aged soft cheeses.
