The nickname "Brocas" originated with a craftsman from Vila Real and was passed down through generations in the Botelho family. With roots spread throughout the Douro region—from Mateus to Cabêda—many members became winegrowers, deeply connected to the tradition of the vine. Today, this name persists as a symbol of hard work, history, and a strong connection to the Douro land.
