Moscatel Roxo Superior The Original Rare Cask-74 is a dessert wine, produced in the Setúbal Region, demarcated since 1907. At Casa Agrícola Horácio Simões, founded in 1910, we always bet on innovative products. Hence our bet on a variety that was extinct in the region. This bet allowed us to produce this nectar.
Tasting Note: Dark topaz color. Intense, floral aroma, warm spices and evolution. Round flavor, very soft, fresh and of great intensity. Very long aftertaste.
Gastronomy: As an accompaniment to a good dessert served at a temperature of 18ºC.
Vinification: This Moscatel was made in the year that the founder's great-grandson of the house was born. In that same year, in Portugal, there was a revolution so this muscat was kept in 10 and 15 liter glass bottles and in some paraffined brown barrels, so it was guaranteed that the wine that would be hidden from everyone's view . About the winemaking method we only know that ancestral processes were used. On the 95th anniversary of the founder's son, as it was a special occasion for the family, this wine came to the table and all the members were amazed at the Moscatel presented. Many conversations arose around him and in one of them, the decision to launch it to the market was unanimous.
