Dow's Quinta Senhora da Ribeira Vintage 2019

Quinta da Senhora da Ribeira is one of the classic riverside farms in the Douro and has belonged to Dow's house since 1890. Famous for being one of the two main properties that make up Dow's legendary Vintage Ports, the farm is also known for producing magnificent Quinta Vintage Ports.

Principally planted with Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz, and old mixed vines, each varietal plot is carefully tended to throughout the year.

Between August and October each year, Bomfim comes alive as the onsite winery opens and pickers begin their work in the vineyards. It is the responsibility of our winemaking and viticultural teams to decide when each plot has achieved its maximum potential and is ready to be picked.

Once picked, grapes are taken to the onsite winery where they are treaded in modern lagares and vinified. If you are visiting Quinta do Bomfim during this time, you will the special opportunity to be able to see the harvest first-hand.

Grape Varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Sousão

Tasting Note: An extremely rare second successive vintage declaration produced an astonishing Vintage Port with tremendous depth and intensity in colour. Fresh floral aromas with notes of rockrose are reminiscent of Senhora da Ribeira, while on the palate, it is exceptionally full-bodied with gorgeous ripe fruit and fine tannins.
