The first Costa Boal Port wine was created in 2014 by António Boal, heir to a family of Douro winemakers with a history spanning nearly 250 years. This special category Port reveals the best of a challenging winemaking year, boasting elegance, delicate aromas, and good acidity, essential for providing pleasant surprises over many years of aging in the bottle.
Grape Varieties: Touriga Franca (50%), Touriga Nacional (40%) Tinta Roriz (10%).
Vinification: Transport in 20 kg boxes, destemming with crushing, pre-fermentation maceration for 24 hours, inoculation followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks below 24ºC.
Ageing: In stainless steel vats where it remains for 20 months.
