Grape Varieties: Síria, Gouveio, Arinto, Rabigato, Fernão Pires, and other minority varieties.
Soil Type: Granite matrix, loamy/sandy texture.
Climate: Continental type, low annual rainfall, very cold autumns and winters, springs with frost formation, short and dry summers with large day-night temperature variations.
Vineyards Age/Altitude: Between 60-80 years old, facing east, situated mid-slope at 600m altitude. Dryland viticulture in a mountain environment converting to organic management.
Origin of the Grapes: Produced in-house and sourced exclusively from the plot we call Seara.
Harvest/Vinification/Ageing: Harvest decisions are made based on ripening controls, according to the opportunity and the desired wine objective. Careful manual harvesting into 20kg perforated crates, sorting table, total destemming, crushing, cold maceration in a controlled atmosphere, followed by complete alcoholic fermentation with temperature control. Post-fermentation contact with fine lees and 10 months aging in stainless steel tanks for part of the volume, the remainder in French and American oak barrels. 6 months of bottle aging before market release.
Tasting Notes: A more classic and structured style, straw yellow in color, resulting from a more oxidative evolution, a clean and opulent aromatic profile with notes of apricot, peach, and loquat. On the palate, moderately full-bodied, somewhat vegetal, with a long and fresh finish featuring notes of spice and dried fruit in a register of complexity and freshness, capable of facing great and varied gastronomic challenges. You can't miss trying it with a varied cheese board.
