Terroir: Granitic and similar rock soils. The vineyard is located on a hilltop of the Herdade da Figueira de Cima estate, at an altitude of 400m. With the climatic influence of the Serra de São Mamede mountain range, it has excellent drainage and sun exposure.
Grape Varieties: 60% Alicante Bouschet; 20% Syrah; 20% Trincadeira.
Tasting Notes: Color: Dark ruby. Nose: Blackcurrant, blackberry, chocolate, coffee. Palate: Full-bodied, lots of black fruit, blackcurrant. Profile: Full-bodied, intense with a disconcerting freshness.
Viticulture: Focus on grape quality. Certified integrated production, with several selective thinnings to reduce the harvest by up to 4,000 kg/ha. Night harvest. Each variety is harvested separately at its optimal time.
Winemaking: Fermentation by grape variety. Alcoholic fermentation by gravity, without pressing the grapes, in French Séguin Moreau oak barrels, with controlled temperature, for a long period and with its own yeasts. Malolactic fermentation in French Séguin Moreau oak barrels. Aging in oak for 18 months. The entire process, including blending, bottling and bottle aging, takes place on the farm.
How to Serve: It improves if opened and decanted 1 hour before serving.
Temperature: It should be served at a temperature of 16ºC to 18ºC.
