Grape Varieties: 100% Verdelho.
Tasting Notes: Amber color with golden nuance and orange reflections with bouquet aromas of intense, ethereal and penetrating wood, with maritime notes of iodine, dried fruit and spice. In the tasting it presents itself as a seductive, medium-dry wine, with acidity and penetrating but well-defined body, refreshing sweetness and tannins firm. Notes of honey, toast, tropical fruits and spice.
Gastronomy: It can be enjoyed simply, as an aperitif, with a refined soup, a sweet and sour starter or fresh tropical fruits. Serve at temperatures not exceeding 18ºC. It doesn't have to be decanted. After opening, the wine will remain for several months in good condition.
Winemaking: Spout open. Stalked grapes and pressed. Fermentation and temperature control. Interruption of fermentation by adding 96% vol. alcohol.
Ageing: In French oak barrels and 650 liters of wine until bottling. This Madeira is a "blended" with an average age of 20 years, from the subdivision of the best wines of this variety that age in our cellars in Funchal and which still constitute our valuable stock today.
Expected Longevity: Madeira wines, due to their characteristics and fortification, are of great longevity. Winemaker: Ivo Couto
