Alvarelhão is an ancient variety almost extinct in Portugal, used in the past to make fine light coloured for the northern aristocracy. The name Ouranos (Sky God) was chosen to express the light, ethereal qualities of this wine.
Grape Varieties: Alvarelhão 100%
Tasting Notes: Opaque violet color. the aroma shows red fruits and some vegetal, with sower cherry and cassis notyes, complexed by spicy and mentholated nuances. On the palate firm yet round tannins prevail, in hand with a crisp acidity that makes this wine enormously gastronomic and persistent.
Vinification: Hand harvested / 75% destemmed 25% whole bunch / Stainless still fermentation / 1 month skin contact / unfiltered / Bottling.
Gastronomy: Best served between 12º and 14ºC.
Oenologues: Tiago Sampaio and Miguel Viseu.
