Pulga is the supreme expression of the white wine from Romaneira, which comes mainly from the Pulga plot.
Grape Varieties: Boal, Viosinho and Rabigato.
Tasting Notes: Quinta da Romaneira Pulga is a complex wine that combines the typical freshness of Romaneira whites with a depth of flavor and complexity of structure that marks it as a magnificent example of all the potential of these great white grape varieties from the Douro when cultivated in a great terroir of vines like Pulga.
Vinification: 100% of the wine is fermented in French oak barrels, 60% new oak, 40% first year, for a period of 21 days, at temperatures between 16 and 18ºC. This is followed by a batonnage period of 4 months and a partial malolactic fermentation. Selected yeasts are used. The three varieties are harvested and vinified separately.
Ageing: The wine ages in barrels for 4 months after alcoholic fermentation. After that time, malolactic fermentation and batonnage are completed as required.
