Grape Varieties: Alvarinho

Terroir: The sub-region of Monção has a very specific microclimate, and uses Alvarinho as its main grape variety, which its extreme wines are the ex-libris of this sub region. The soils here are mainly granitic and vines grow exposed to the sun, favoring the further maturity of the grapes. The micro-climate is noted for cold winters with average rainfall, while summers are hot and dry, which shows limited influence from the Atlantic. The sub-region runs along the south bank of the river Minho in an area of half-slopes.

Tasting Note: Citrus, minerals and gentle notes of apple and pineapple give this a very elegant nose. The palate reveals a smooth wine, with acidity that gives it freshness and length.

Service Temperature: Serve between 11º and 12ºC.

Longevity: Until 8 years after the date of the harvest.
